Private instruction is available in my home in Piney Creek, North Carolina. All levels of acoustic guitar from beginners to contest flatpicking is available. You can learn to play tunes like Doc Watson, Tony Rice, Norman Blake or even George Shuffler and Maybelle Carter.

Travis style fingerpicking and advanced swing chords are also offered.

Beginning or intermediate mandolin and bass classes are also available plus a beginning bluegrass banjo class which introduces rolls and tunes such as Cripple Creek and Old Joe Clark.

Cost of any private instruction class is $15.00 per 45 minute class, payable monthly. Contact Steve Kilby at Alleghany Music Company for available time slots.

We would like to announce that lessons are also available on cassette and tablature via snail-mail. Cost for this service is $18.00 postpaid per 45 minute lesson on cassette tape. Forty-Five minutes usually covers one fiddle tune, explained slowly with tablature. Just e-mail me and we'll discuss the tune you want to learn.
